The May Day holidays in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids brought hundreds of visitors from all over the world, and everyone together in Visoko celebrated May 2nd, the Day of Archaeological Tourism. Somehow, the celebration of May 1st marked the beginning of the peak season, and rivers of guests flooded the Ravne District of the Bosnian Pyramids, as well as all other locations in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids.
– Our season has started, and for several weeks in a row we have had an increased number of guests arriving from all over the world, especially from the countries of the region. For the May Day holidays, we had a large number of organized groups from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, but also from Italy, Norway and other parts of Europe and the world. This year we are also recording a slightly larger number of guests from Italy, which is the result of the promotional campaign carried out by Dr. Osmanagic and the Foundation’s associates throughout the year, which is resulting in the arrival of guests. – Ajdin Ahmetspahic, coordinator at the Foundation and tourism manager, told us.
Although the main part of the season is yet to come, there are already a large number of announcements of organized arrivals of guests, and they have been announced from all over the world. In addition to individual visitors and organized daily arrivals, a large number of guests come for several days, and in addition to the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids, guests also visit the stone balls in Zavidovici, Bijambare, Sarajevo and Bascarsija.
– From the second half of May until the end of June, we have organized groups that come for several days, and there are visitors from Australia, America, England, France, and these are our long-time associates who bring their groups, but also new groups that are coming to us for the first time. With the festival program that we are preparing, and with the openings and other programs in the park, we expect another successful year, both in terms of tourism and programming. – Ahmetspahic told us.
