Two high-quality tennis courts will be opened in the Ravne 2 Archaeological Park, and a special program on the occasion of the opening will be held on July 13.
Bosnia and Herzegovina lacks quality tennis courts and infrastructure for the most popular individual sports in this area, and that will change with the construction of two high-quality courts in Visoko.
This especially refers to the field with a hard surface, which should be modeled on the New York fields where the US Open is organized, since there are no such fields in our country. Also, a field with an earthen base will be built, modeled on those from Roland Garros.
The founder of the “Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” foundation, Semir Osmanagic, told Klix.ba that negotiations are currently underway on the arrival of top tennis players to open the court in Visoko.
According to the information obtained by our portal, Novak Djokovic and Damir Djumhur will appear at the opening on July 13 and play an exhibition match there.
“Two high-quality terrains will be opened in Ravne 2 Park. Construction began on March 21, and will end on July 13, and then we will open. We are currently in negotiations with several top tennis players who should play an exhibition match, but it has not yet been finalized who will play at the opening, “Osmanagic said in an interview with Klix.ba.
Osmanagic revealed that the use of the court will not be charged and that they should become the center of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also regional tennis, where new great hopes of “white sports” could grow.
“The goal is for the courts to become a regional tennis center. The fields will not be of the commercial type, that is, the junior and senior national teams of B&H will train on them for free. We want it to become the tennis center of the Balkans and we are in negotiations with the Tennis Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina “, adds Osmanagic.
The plan is to organize a special type of tournament called “Pyramids Cup”, which would be attended by four of the best tennis players from the region. That project should come to life by 2023.
“From 2023, we want to be the organizers of the Pyramids Cup, which would bring together four of the best tennis players from the region. We hope that Marin Cilic, who was born in B&H, would play there, maybe also Borna Coric, Damir Djumhur, and if his obligations allow, Novak Djokovic.
